Performance Expectations , and Affective Impressions : an Experimental Replication
نویسنده
چکیده
We present results from a study connecting status characteristics theory and affect control theory. Replicating a previous study (Dippong and Kalkhoff 2015), we examine the relationship between affective impressions and general performance expectations. The current study builds on previous work by employing an experimental setting specifically designed to isolate status as the sole basis of social judgment. Primary results indicate that evaluation and potency impressions positively predicted performance expectations, while activity impressions exerted no influence over expectations. Exploratory analyses show that the effects of affective impressions on performance expectations differed substantially between status-equal and statusdifferentiated groups.

A Kansei mining system for affective design
Affective design has received much attention from both academia and industries. It aims at incorporating customers’ affective needs into design elements that deliver customers’ affective satisfaction. The main challenge for affective design originates from difficulties in mapping customers’ subjective impressions, namely Kansei, to perceptual design elements. This paper intends to develop an ex...
متن کاملImproving Data Grids Performance by Using Modified Dynamic Hierarchical Replication Strategy
Abstract: A Data Grid connects a collection of geographically distributed computational and storage resources that enables users to share data and other resources. Data replication, a technique much discussed by Data Grid researchers in recent years creates multiple copies of file and places them in various locations to shorten file access times. In this paper, a dynamic data replication strate...
متن کاملRemembering first impressions: effects of intentionality and diagnosticity on subsequent memory.
People rely on first impressions every day as an important tool to interpret social behavior. While research is beginning to reveal the neural underpinnings of first impressions, particularly through understanding the role of dorsal medial prefrontal cortex (dmPFC), little is known about the way in which first impressions are encoded into memory. This is surprising because first impressions are...
متن کاملDynamic Replication based on Firefly Algorithm in Data Grid
In data grid, using reservation is accepted to provide scheduling and service quality. Users need to have an access to the stored data in geographical environment, which can be solved by using replication, and an action taken to reach certainty. As a result, users are directed toward the nearest version to access information. The most important point is to know in which sites and distributed sy...
متن کاملAttributions, Affect, and Expectations: A Test of Weiner's Three-Dimensional Model
In a test of predictions derived from Weiner's reformulated three-dimensional model of attributions, college students who had performed well or poorly on an examination reported the locus, stability, and controllability of the causes of their performance, their affective reactions, and their expectations. As is consistent with Weiner's model, more positive affective reactions were reported by s...
